A teenage girl hid upstairs in a closet Tuesday while someone broke open the front door of her home in Pueblo. Police believe the break-in is linked to a series of electronics burglaries.

According to the police report, the 14-year-old girl was upstairs in the home on Heather Court when she saw a black Ford Explorer parked on the street near the mailbox. She heard someone knocking at the front door, but the knocking quickly turned to pounding.

Then, she heard the door break open and the girl hid in her brother’s closet while she tried to call her mother at work.

The teen spoke to a receptionist who in turn called the police department.

The girl’s mother also rushed home and was there when officers arrived.

The family checked the home and did not believe that anything was missing. The teen believed that the suspects had gotten inside, but left when they found that the television in the living room was on.

Police wrote in their report that they had found distinctive boot prints in the snow near the front porch, a front window and the driveway. The heel of the prints had a pattern of four circles.

The family involved asked KKTV not to reveal their identities or address. They said they were terrified by the experience and still concerned for their safety.

While investigating this break-in, the officers were called away to help catch suspects in another break-in on Iroquois Road. Those three suspects, Bobby Sanders, Eric Maes and Filiberto Solano, were arrested after a chase that ended with their Dodge Durango ramming police cruisers, and a foot chase.

Now, Pueblo police tell KKTV 11 News they believe those three suspects are also responsible for the break-in on Heather Court and a string of others.

Police say they’ve been investigating a series of burglaries in which electronics were taken from area homes. The group would knock on doors in broad daylight, and break them down if nobody answered.

Sanders, Maes and Solano, are suspected of being involved in those crimes.

Additionally, police are looking for two brothers who may be connected to the crimes. Police have a warrant for Richard Quintana, who they suspect of working on another burglary last week with Bobby Sanders on Lynwood.

Officers also want to question Richard’s brother, Adam Quintana.
