Colorado Springs police are hoping video surveillance of two liquor store robberies within hours of each other will help nab the thirsty thieves.
Police tell 11 News the first burglary alarm came in around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Payless Liquor Store located at 3472 Research Pkwy. When officers arrived they found the window had been broken however, no entry was made into the store.
Officers alerted other patrols to be on the look-out and check liquor stores in their areas.
Then about an hour later, another burglary report came in from Voyager Liquor, located at 12225 Voyager Pkwy. When officers arrived on scene, they found a broken window and several missing bottles of liquor.
Police say surveillance video from both liquor stores show the same two suspects were responsible for both the Attempted Burglary of Payless Liquor and the Burglary of Voyager Liquor.
"I'm supposing it's young people who aren't old enough to buy it," said owner of Payless Liquors, Bob Hahn.
He says while nothing was stolen at his store this time, he was burglarized back in December and the crooks got away with several hundreds dollars worth of alcohol.
"Same hour of the day. Same day of the week. I'd say it's the same individuals," Hahn said.
He says he just got his window fixed from his first break-in and now he'll have to fix another. He's fed up.
"Just hoping the community can spot one of these guys and turn them in," Hahn said.
If you have any information about these robberies, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
