Springs Police Search for Suspects in Attempted Home Break-in

A guard dog is being credited with scaring off a group of armed robbers from a Colorado Springs home Wednesday morning.

It happened at a house on Cucharras Street, near Highway 24 and West Colorado Avenue just before 4 a.m.

The homeowner told police he heard a loud noise in the kitchen and was confronted by one of the suspects, who pointed a gun in his face. That's when the man's dog started barking and distracted the suspects.

Police tell 11 News the suspects took off in a full size Chevy truck. The homeowner was able to describe two of the three people. the first suspect is a man, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. The second suspect is described as a woman, also about 6 feet tall and about 35 years old.

No one was hurt and nothing was stolen from the house.
