Shots Fired Into Springs Home Overnight

It's not what you expect to hear in a dead sleep: gunshots outside your house--or fired at your home.

Officers are now working to find who gave residents of two southeast Springs neighborhoods a restless sleep early Friday morning.

Police say it was a close call in one of the shootings, as shots went into a home on the 3400 block of Foxridge Drive, near Drennan and Hancock Expressway, just before 1:30 a.m. No one was injured. The shooter remains at large.

Police were initially called to the scene on reports of a break-in, before receiving a call that shots had been fired at a second house and a car. No evidence of a break-in was found at the first home. At this time, they have no leads on any suspects, and ask that anyone with information step forward. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

About an hour later, shots rang out again a few miles away on Bryce Drive, near Airport and South Circle.

Police do not believe the two incidents are related.

Buying a home you say? Take your time, look around and you will feel it. Look at the school district ratings and the feel of the surrounding area, shops, etc. South is a broad area. The east side of powers around banning Lewis ranch is considered south, but a good neighborhood despite the recent isolated domestic murder suicide, so you can't base your facts on the whole south side being crime ridden. Colorado springs is still a great city. Dobt base your opinions on the comment boards. You can tell right away if an area is not right. A bit of advice is to look at the area you want to live on a weekend after the first of the month. You will get a better picture of the dynamics. Hope I helped.
