It's not what you expect to hear in a dead sleep: gunshots outside your house--or fired at your home.
Officers are now working to find who gave residents of two southeast Springs neighborhoods a restless sleep early Friday morning.
Police say it was a close call in one of the shootings, as shots went into a home on the 3400 block of Foxridge Drive, near Drennan and Hancock Expressway, just before 1:30 a.m. No one was injured. The shooter remains at large.
Police were initially called to the scene on reports of a break-in, before receiving a call that shots had been fired at a second house and a car. No evidence of a break-in was found at the first home. At this time, they have no leads on any suspects, and ask that anyone with information step forward. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
About an hour later, shots rang out again a few miles away on Bryce Drive, near Airport and South Circle.
Police do not believe the two incidents are related.
