Police are investigating a shooting at a Colorado Springs convenience store.
Just before 5 a.m., police were called to the 7-Eleven on the 1800 block of South Nevada on reports of a shooting. The victim, a 21-year-old male, was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest/upper arm area. He has been taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A Ford Focus was found in the area with blood on the interior. Police believe at some point the victim was inside the vehicle.
Police are on scene at both the 7-Eleven and the nearby Chief Motel, where the victim is believed to be staying.
Based on an interview with the victim, police are searching for a Hispanic male, 5-foot-4, wearing a black, blue and gray jacket. Police say the victim is otherwise being uncooperative with the investigation. Based on an employee's tip, officers are also looking for a blue 4-door older sedan in connection to the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call police, or contact Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
The 7-Eleven is located near Southgate and Cheyenne Road.
