Police ID Suspect In Road Rage Shooting

Police have identified the suspect in a shooting during a road rage incident Sunday morning.

Police investigated a reported case of road-rage early Sunday morning. One teenager shot another.

Police now have a warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Raul Barros. Barros is wanted for attempted first-degree murder.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. between two vehicles at Lower Gold Camp Road and 21st Street in Colorado Springs.

Police say the road rage incident started on the 900 block of 8th Street, escalated into a physical fight, and ended with Barros shooting the person in the other car. That man was able to drive himself to the hospital, and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Barros is a white male, 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds. Besides the warrant for Sunday's shooting, he is wanted on several additional, outstanding warrants. Police say Barros should be considered armed and dangerous, and advise the public to not approach him. If you see him, call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
