Thursday, a tip to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office led investigators to a motor home on the 2800 block of Dakata Place in Colorado City. Escape fugitive Christopher Wyatt, 20, surrendered after a tactical team fired two CS gas canisters into the home.
The PCSO Civil/Fugitive division stated they had information that firearms could also be in the mobile home when investigators arrived, so Sheriff Taylor, along with members of the Special Tactics And Rescue (STAR) team assembled to execute the arrest warrant.
After that second canister of CS gas was fired into the unit, the fugitive yelled from inside, "I'm coming out, I give up!" according to the Sheriff's Office.
Two firearms were found inside the motor home. A .38 caliber snub nose revolver and a .22 caliber bolt action rifle.
Authorities say Wyatt was an escapee from CCSI, a halfway home, located in Pueblo.
Wyatt was booked into Pueblo County Jail on two felony charges, burglary and escape. He's being held without bond.
