Police say they believe an M80 set off inside a mailbox in a east side neighborhood in Colorado Springs was an isolated incident. There were no injuries, but there's also no more mailbox.
It happened Monday night after 9 p.m. on the 1900 block of Heathercrest Drive. That's just west of the intersection of Palmer Park and Powers Blvd.
Initially, police thought it might have been a dry-ice bomb, but later confirmed that it was a firework that blew the mailbox apart.
No word yet on who set off the explosive.
