Because parents are no longer allowed or willing to discipline their children effectively or teach them respect for others. This world is all about selfish wants and desires now and if it takes some sort of violence to get their way,. make their point, or intimidate someone into something, they will do it. I just wish people would start seeing these incidents as wake-up calls rather than inspiration for other crimes.

"Back in the day," it used to be so simple. Go out in back of the bar or school or wherever, duke it out, one guy wins, resume drinking or whatever you were doing. Nowadays - different priorities. Someone's either got a gun or a knife and the motive becomes trying to kill the other person. With all of the mass shootings and violence we've seen, it's clear we live in a much more violent society than the one I grew up in. The question would then be - WHY?
