The search is on for a police impersonator in the Denver area. It's not clear if this is the same man who has been impersonating an officer in Aurora and Jefferson County.

Police say the suspect was driving an unmarked white Crown Victoria with red and blue lights on top when he stopped a woman. According to investigators, he identified himself as a Denver police officer, then requested the woman's license and registration. After asking her if she knew why she was being stopped--he jumped back into his car and drove off.

The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male in his early 40s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, wearing his black hair in a spiky style. He reportedly was wearing jeans and a light blue uniform shirt with a tear in the breast pocket, and had a noticeable potbelly.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP or text to 274637, titling the message DMCS. Information leading to an arrest can lead to a $2,000 reward.
