The search is on for a suspect who police say robbed a hotel on the southwest side of town.
Just after 2 a.m. Monday, police say the suspect locked an employee in a closet at the Courtyard by Marriott on Tenderfoot Hill, then stole cash.
The hotel is located just off Lake Avenue, an area in which a string of home and vehicle break-ins occurred during the waning weeks of 2011.
Police dogs searched the area, but were unable to find the robber.
The suspect has been described as white or Hispanic, around 40 years old. He's about 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds with a pock-marked face. The suspect was last seen wearing dark jeans, a dark jacket and a dark-colored beanie hat.
