Police need help locating a home owner who is now wanted for felony charges unrelated to a shooting that happened inside his home in May.
Police are currently searching for 43 year-old Miguel Rosalio Sandoval, who is wanted for possession of a dangerous or illegal weapon, drug charges and identity theft charges. He has not yet been charged in the shooting death of a man who he'd invited into his home, although the death has been ruled a homicide.
On May 27, 2010, Colorado Springs police responded to what was initially thought to be a home invasion on 300 E. Las Vegas St. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of a young man, who had been shot.
Further investigation revealed that the deceased male, 20-year-old Ronald Raymond Gutierrez, and a companion, 19-year-old Ryan
Santistevan, had been invited into the home by its owner, Miguel Sandoval. Police say after an argument broke out among the three men, Sandoval fired a shot, which killed Gutierrez. Santistevan fled the property and jumped into the car of a woman waiting outside. The pair were stopped by police in the area of Cimarron and Nevada, where Santistevan was arrested by police for attempted aggravated robbery at the East Las Vegas Street home, as well as an unrelated domestic violence charge. His female companion, 22-year-old Felicia Cruz, was not charged.
Anyone with any information on Sandoval’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 719-444-7000, or call Crimestoppers at 719-634-STOP if anonymity is preferred.
