Pueblo Police believe they have caught the suspect responsible for a fatal shooting Sunday night. They say the victim tried to drive away but crashed because of the injuries that ended his life.

Pueblo Police say the fatal shooting occurred in the 200 block of East Northern Avenue. The victim, David F. Sanchez Jr., 40, crashed at Eilers and Northern.

Police say the first indication of the case was a report of shots being fired around 9:37 p.m. Sanchez’s crash occurred while police were headed to the area of Northern and Taylor to investigate that report.

Detectives investigating the case say the homicide began as an altercation between two groups in separate cars. For a while, one chased the other.

The group that was being chased called Sanchez to see if he could help. Sanchez confronted the other group and police believe he was shot at that time.

Pueblo Police report that Randy Quaduor, 21, was arrested for murdering Sanchez.

Additionally, the investigation led to a second arrest. Alejandro Anchondo, 20, is charged with menacing with a deadly weapon. He allegedly menaced both Sanchez and another man prior to the shooting.
