Police Investigate Attempted Abduction (August 19)
In light of the most recent reports of attempted child abductions, Colorado Springs police issued the latest information about their ongoing investigation Thursday.
Police say there have been several incidents involving children being followed by a white van. The most recent reports came on August 13 and August 19, both in northeast neighborhoods. In both incidents, a man associated with the van followed the children on foot.
CSPD has released the following suspect information:
In several incidents, two men were reported in the van, these cases describe the duo as a Hispanic male in his 30s to 40s along with a white male in his 30s to 40s. Another case describes one mixed race male in his 20s to 30s with olive skin and a colored tattoo on his right forearm. That suspect may have a tattoo shaped similar to a gun on his outer right calf.
The van the men are seen in is described as a white full-sized van with tinted windows, and may or may not have side windows. The released the following Thursday:
It was described as being “full size similar to a panel van except it had dark tinted windows on both sides of the back”. Others described the vehicle as a white box moving type truck and also as a white work van with ladder racks but no ladders.
