After two days on the run, police arrested the suspect in a brutal domestic assault.
Michael Casados was arrested Thursday. He's accused of beating
and pistol-whipping his girlfriend before forcing her to get in his vehicle.
According to police, witnesses first alerted officers after seeing the suspect brutally assault the victim outside a home on Rainier Drive in Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon. Officers searched the area for the couple, but were unable to locate them.
A short time later, officers were notified that an assault victim had been taken to Memorial Hospital. Police later learned from the victim that her boyfriend eventually let her out of the car, and she called her sister-in-law to pick her up.
The suspect allegedly kicked and punched the victim several times before hitting her with a handgun. Police say one of the blows was hard enough that it broke her arm.
Police say Casados' arrest came after two days of pursuing leads on his whereabouts.
