Police Seeking Public's Help In Locating Assault Suspect


Police are looking for the suspect in a brutal domestic assault.

Aubrey Adams, 25, is accused of assaulting, then strangling a 23-year-old woman inside her home. Police say that as the assault escalated, Adams grabbed a revolver and aimed it at the woman, who tried to wrestle it away from him before he allegedly fired a round at the ceiling.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. The suspect took off before police arrived.

Adams is described as a 5-foot-11 white male, 160 pounds with red or auburn hair and hazel eyes. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest. He faces "domestic violence related charges of criminal attempt - second-degree murder," according to police.

The incident happened Sept. 29 on the 100 block of North Meade Avenue in Colorado Springs.
