Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an almost two-month-old robbery.
The suspect allegedly stole a Leatherman Multi-Tool from the Sears on Southgate Road in Colorado Springs on October 15. He was seen concealing it inside his jacket, then trying to leave without paying.
Police say the crime escalated when an employee tried to stop him. The suspect allegedly threatened the employee with a metal baton. The employee, scared of being attacked, backed off. Police say they have probable cause to charge the suspect with aggravated robbery.
The suspect is described as an Hispanic male in his 30s, standing between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-3 with a thin build. He was dressed in camouflage pants, a blue coat with black sleeves, and white shoes. Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect.
If you have any information that can help lead police to him, you are asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000.
