The second suspect in a bank robbery was arrested Friday after he was found hiding in an attic space above an apartment.
Police had been looking for 53-year-old Michael Browning ever since a robbery Monday afternoon at the Wells Fargo on South Nevada Avenue. His alleged accomplice, 53-year-old Kevin Cohee, was arrested on the same day as the robbery after being spotted near Cimarron and 8th Street.
In the days following the robbery, investigators found a flatbed pickup, spray-painted black over its original red paint, that they believed belonged to Browning. The truck was found in a neighborhood near Garden of the Gods and I-25. Police began going door-to-door, and determined Browning may be hiding in one of the apartments on Old Dutch Mill Road.
Friday afternoon, police spoke with a woman who admitted Browning was in her attic. A K-9 unit had to be called after Browning refused to come down. He eventually was removed from the attic without incident.
