Authorities at Fort Lewis in Washington State say that Joshua Daner has turned himself in. It happened Monday night at about 7:30 p.m. but authorities here in Colorado Springs were not notified until early Tuesday morning.

Fort Carson military police were also notified so that they could inform the victim.

According to police, the former fiance told suspect Joshua Johnston Daner via text that she no longer wanted to get married and was ending the relationship.

Daner, who is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, then told his supervisors that he was heading to Colorado Springs to kill his ex and her new boyfriend, then kill himself.
