Police have identified the suspect in a brutal assault at a Pueblo Safeway last month.
On Jan. 20, Vincent Ballejos, 28, allegedly assault a man to the point of unconsciousness, then left the badly injured victim in front of the store. The store is located on 617 W. 29th St.
The 46-year-old victim, identified as Michael Flavin, died 10 days after the assault. Police say the victim's death changes the assault investigation to a homicide investigation.
Ballejos remains at large.
Ballejos is described as an Hispanic man, 6-foot-1, weighing around 225 pounds. He may have left in an older-model blue station wagon. The vehicle was seen exiting the parking lot to the east, then turning left onto Elizabeth and heading north.
If you have any information on this crime or Ballejos' whereabouts, you are asked to contact authorities immediately, or Crime Stoppers at 719-542-STOP.
Police have also identified two persons of interest, who they say were with Ballejos on the day of the interest. If you have any information on their identities, you are also asked to call police.
