A man found shot in the roadway on the southeast side of the Springs has died.

Police have ruled his death a homicide.

Carolos Espinoza, 22, was lying in the roadway in the area of Byron and South Murray, near Roosevelt Park, when police found him Thursday night. He was suffering from gunshot wounds in the chest.

Neighbors say they heard several shots, but no one saw the shooter, so there is no description.

Police rushed the Espinoza to the hospital, where he later died.

This is the 28th homicide in the Springs this year.
