An 18-year-old woman is facing charges of first-degree murder after her mother was found dead inside a home.
Isabella Guzman is being held without bond at the Arapahoe County Jail.
Our sister station in Denver tells us arrest papers say Guzman's mother was stabbed 75 times.
Police aren't releasing any information about a possible motive, but arrest papers say the suspect's behavior toward her mother changed after her parents got divorced.
The victim also allegedly got a threatening email from Guzman containing the words "you will pay" the day before the murder. The mother called police.
On the night of Wednesday, August 28, police say they responded to a "family disturbance" on South Lima Street just after 10 p.m.
When police arrived, they say they found a woman in the home's upstairs bathroom in "grave condition." She died a short time later.
Arrest papers say she had been stabbed 75 times.
Guzman reportedly left the home sometime before police arrived that night. She was arrested August 29 around 2:00 p.m.
Homicide detectives say they will be investigating the scene for a few more days.
Police also ask anyone with information that could help with this case to call 303-739-6090.
