Man Turns Self In For Hit-And-Run

A man has stepped forward to take responsibility for a hit-and-run Saturday night, which left one person injured.

The collision happened at 11:40 p.m. near South Highway 85 and Cattail Marsh Road in Fountain. The 44-year-old victim was walking along the road when he was hit.

The alleged driver reportedly saw the accident on the news, made the connection and called Fountain police. He told officers he thought he had hit an animal.

Police say the victim had injuries to his left side. He was taken to the hospital. His condition has not been released.

The suspect's identity has not been released. Authorities are not saying at this time if the suspect is in custody or if he will face charges.
