Three T-Mobile stores were broken into and a fourth was vandalized sometime overnight or Monday morning, police say.

One of the stores is located at 5166 North Nevada. It appears the crooks broke through the glass of the front door of that location to get inside.

The other locations broken into were at 3604 Austin Bluffs and 3060 North Powers. The store affected by what officers called criminal mischief is at 7435 North Academy.

The crooks took phones and tablets from at least some of the locations. Additionally, police say a safe at one of the locations was tampered with.

The police and the stores have the serial numbers for the stolen merchandise.

The crimes were reported Monday morning when employees arrived for work. The stores were all able to clean-up and open on Monday.

One of their shoppers says the crimes around the holidays may be related to the economy.

"They're desperate so they gotta do what they gotta do to help their families,” Amanda Williams said.

But she says burglary is definitely not the way to do that:

"You have to be responsible for what you do,” Williams said. “That's not the answer to economy issues."
