After a stranger left a party early Saturday morning, he began firing a gun in the air, damaging a vehicle and alarming a number of residents on the Springs' southeast side.

Police are now looking for the suspect.

According to police, the suspect showed up at a small party on the 4400 block of Melville Circle around 1:30 a.m. Police say no one at the party knew who the suspect was.

After speaking with a woman attending the party, the suspect drove away and starting firing his gun. An unoccupied vehicle parked along the side of the road was hit, and sustained moderate damage.

Police have not provided a suspect description, other than that he left the area in an older-model red SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 444-7000, or call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
