Two men were arrested Thursday morning for their role in a drive-by theft early Thursday morning, but one woman remains at large.
The victim tells police that the female suspect is the one who actually stole from him; the roles of the two in custody are still under investigation.
The victim was reportedly walking his dog in the area of Centennial and Garden of the Gods when a car pulled up beside him. A woman got out of the vehicle and asked the victim if he had any money. When he pulled out a "wad" of cash, the suspect allegedly snatched it from him and sped away in the vehicle.
Shortly after the theft, the victim says the car passed by again. This time, he says a man in the car flashed a gun at him, causing the victim to fear for his life.
Police pulled over the car a few blocks away from the scene and arrested two people, including the man allegedly with the gun. The woman was nowhere to be found. Police were unable to find a gun in the vehicle, though they did find a holster.
Joseph Kennedy, 23, and Christopher Richards, 20, both face felony charges of conspiracy to commit theft from a person. One of the men also faces menacing charges, but police have not specified which suspect. Records show that both men have bonded out of the CJC.
Anyone with information on this incident or the female suspect's whereabouts are asked to contact Springs police, or call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
