Man Fights Off Armed Would-Be Robbers

It was a close call for a man who managed to avoid an armed robbery Monday, but the would-be assailants are still on the loose.

Colorado Springs police say a 41-year-old man was walking home from work near the intersection of N. Carefree Circle and Picturesque Circle Monday when two men walked by him, then doubled back and accosted him. The men demanded money while wielding at least one gun.

The man refused to give them anything and swung a backpack at the them, prompting them to run away.

The victim was able to make it home safely before calling police. K9 Officer Bauer and his dog Rico attempted a track and despite not finding the suspects, found some evidence. Police now suspect the men may be connected to a robbery a week ago, in the vicinity of S. Carefree Circle and Avondale Drive, where a man who had just crashed his bike was assaulted and robbed.

The suspects are described as a black man, 20-30 years old, about 6 feet tall, wearing a dark hoodie and holding a hand gun. The other suspect is described as an unknown race, 20-30 years old, about 6 feet tall, wearing a dark coat.

is it really that hard to spell words such as typical, those, and in? And as far as the racist thing, their has been racism and people being racist for hundreds of years. I say let those who are racist be racist and those who are not should not try to change the ones that are for the simple fact that it will never happen. GROW UP PEOPLE!!!!!

It's great how you out words in my mouth. I never said I hate black people. I just provide facts about their crime rates. It's a proven fact blacks are 8 more times likely to commit murder. And again the kkk thing is so middle school. There are much more powerful organizations that are racist. then again. Anything you say about another race is racist. Whether its true or false. I could care less what you think about me. I have normal American friends who happen to be black. They are good people. Not animals. And guess why that is? They were raised in a white community and went to college.

Very typical of James. Racist and ignorant remarks. Hmmmm.....I wonder why you would be doing this. Were you robbed before? It's strange you claim blacks are more racist, yet you keep up with your I HATE BLACK people attitude. When will you ALL learn that we shouldn't hate because of skin color. Did your mommy and daddy raise you to be this ignorant??? Probably so. And you do need to be in the corner with all KKK members. And any other racist of any other race does too. Let's not hate because of race. Let's just hope that any certain person that commits a crime gets caught. Good day to you sir!

Gee guys well maybe next time the would-be victim will have time to pull out a questionaire and have the punks who tried to rob him fill it out. Its nice to judge the situation after the fact but when it happens most people have a hard time remembering details because they are fearing and fighting for their lives.
