A registered sex offender in Colorado Springs has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a then 6-year-old boy.
11 News obtained the affidavit for 29-year-old Robert Lee Gray's arrest. In it, authorities say that the victim, now 9 years old, reported in March that he was sexually assaulted by a college friend of his mother's. The Department of Human Services was contacted, and a criminal investigation began.
According to the affidavit, the victim told authorities that he played video games at Gray's home, and was often alone with him. The victim disclosed to investigators that Gray made sexual contact with him multiple times when he was 6 years old. Gray later admitted to the sexual contact in a conversation with the victim's mother.
Gray was arrested on May 18. He has now been arrested twice in 2011 on charges of sexual assault on a child. Gray was previously arrested in March for inappropriate sexual behavior with a 5-year-old boy. Gray has been a registered sex offender since he was arrested in 1999 for first degree sexual assault. He is currently being held in the El Paso County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
The victim is currently in the custody of DHS.
