Police are trying to track down a man who robbed a convenience store armed with a hammer Sunday morning near Palmer Park Boulevard and North Powers.

Police say the man wielded a hammer as he threatened a clerk in the Diamond Shamrock and demanded money. After receiving an unknown amount of cash, he ran off towards the Sand Creek wash area west of the store.

Police are looking for a white man, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was dressed in dark pants, a black jacket and tan work boots.

No one was injured in the robbery.

If you have any information about this man's whereabouts, call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
