A neighborhood is on edge after a man was robbed at gunpoint while taking out the trash.

It happened around 9:30 Saturday evening on Kodiak Drive near Academy and Chelton in Colorado Springs.

The 21-year-old victim says the thief came around a bush near his home with a gun and demanded money. When the victim refused, he hit him over the head with the gun and grabbed his wallet.

The victim says he was able to push the thief over, and knock the gun out of his hand, but the thief got it back. He then ran off with the victim's ATM card, drivers license, military contractor ID and around $200.

Police are looking for a black man in his 20s with a thin build. He's described as around 5-foot-9, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, beanie, and bandana with white tennis shoes.

If you think you know who the suspect is call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
