Early Saturday morning, April 27, police in Colorado Springs arrested a man after they found him driving a stolen car.
According to reports from the Colorado Springs Police, an officer saw a vehicle in the parking lot of 7/11 at Fountain and Union Boulevard. When he ran the license plate, it was found to be reported as stolen.
The officer approached the vehicle in his patrol car and that's when John Baker, driving the stolen vehicle, sped off.
Baker later crashed the car into the front yard of a home at Boggs and Fountain Boulevard. K-9 units assisted police in finding the suspect, hiding in the backyard of a nearby home underneath a truck topper.
Baker was taken into custody but police have not yet released his charges nor his mugshot.
