A man thought he was buying a Christmas present for his son--but found himself victim of a scam instead.

He had responded to a Craigslist ad for a Playstation 4, and met the buyer in a hotel lobby Tuesday evening. But after paying the suspect, the victim opened the box and found it stuffed with towels.

The suspect ran out the door, and left the area in a car waiting in the parking lot.

Police say the suspect is a black man, 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds, and was dressed in dark pants and a gray hoodie. He left the motel in a blue-green Toyota Corolla. The hotel was located on Aerotech Drive, near Powers and Astrozon in Colorado Springs.
