A local mother is pleading with our community to help find her daughter's killer. Colorado Springs police say they don't have a suspect.
May 2 marks the one year anniversary of Angelina Sicola’s murder.
Pam Lively's eyes filled with tears as she reflected on the day she learned her daughter was murdered.
“I screamed. I screamed and I screamed. I couldn't believe it. I don't know why anybody would want to hurt her,” Lively said.
Her daughter was living at the Featherstone Apartments. That’s off of Half Turn Road near Austin Bluffs and Academy in Colorado Springs.
Angie Sicola was a sophomore at UCCS, majoring in communication. Her mom says she had a great sense of humor and was dedicated to Taekwondo.
"She was a second degree black belt martial artist. So that makes it even more confusing, more puzzling."
Puzzling how someone was able to come into her apartment and strangle her to death.
“Every day we just wait for an arrest. Every day we want justice. Every day I ask Angie, please give the detectives a clue."
Pam is determined. She won't give up hope until her daughter's killer is behind bars.
"We hope her killer is looking over his shoulder, that he has a lot of sleepless nights and nightmares. Know that her case will be solved. His freedom is limited. His days are numbered."
Pam says her daughter's name, Angelina, means messenger from God. Pam believes she is now an angel in Heaven watching over them. She’s just hoping someone will remember something from that day and help close this case.
