Liquor Store Targeted by Robber Sunday

KS Liquors, at 2060 S. Academy Blvd. was robbed Sunday evening. Witnesses say a man with a handgun got physical with one of the employees when they told him they wouldn't open the register.

Witnesses say the robbery happened just before 8 p.m. A black man with a handgun demanded cash, but when a clerk wouldn't open the register, the thief shoved him. The thief was able to get the register opened and got away with an unknown amount of cash and ran off toward Academy.

Officers used K-9 to help search a perimeter of the area, but the crook was never found.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5' 6" to 5' 9", 150-160 lbs., with a medium complexion. The suspect was wearing a red St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball cap, a baggy polo style short with red, black & white horizon strips, baggy jean shorts, and white tennis shoes.
