Police are looking for the person responsible for creating a homemade bomb and exploding it in a parking lot.
Colorado Springs police say they were called to a report of a pipe bomb explosion in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 1633 E. Woodmen Rd. around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
When police arrived, the device involved included a mixture of chemicals, two tin cans and a fuse which had been lit. The result was a small flash fire and small scale explosion.
The device was not a pipe bomb as was initially feared. No one was injured and no other property damage occurred.
Police are still looking for the people responsible. If you have information, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
