Resolution FAQ - (Stacia Naquin)
Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
After getting away with cash in a convenience store holdup late last month, police say the same crook continues to return to the scene of that robbery to carry out the same crime over and over again.
Early Friday morning marked the third time in less than three weeks that the Diamond Shamrock on 5670 Palmer Park was robbed.
The crime has been carried out in an almost identical manner each time: the suspect enters the Diamond Shamrock in the middle of the night carrying a hammer, approaches the clerk demanding cash, then runs away from the area before police arrive. In two of the robberies, including the one on Friday, the suspect was also carrying a knife and stole cigarettes as well.
The suspect description has also been the same in the three robberies, leading police to believe it is the same man each time. He's described as a white man in his 20s, 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing.
The Diamond Shamrock was first robbed on October 28, then robbed exactly one week later on November 4.
Friday, police say the store was robbed around 2:50 a.m. and the suspect is believed to have ran in a northwest direction from the store. Police dogs were brought to the scene to help track him, but were unsuccessful.
Police believe the suspect may live in the area, and ask those living near Palmer Park and Powers to remain especially vigilant. If anyone has any information on this suspect's whereabouts, call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
