A home break-in has put several weapons on the streets, in the hands of crooks. They were snatched in a burglary while the victim was at work.

The crime has victims William Knight and his girlfriend Dana Spurlock pretty shaken up.

Knight told 11 News this is the second time in just three months his home has been a target for thieves. In the latest break-in the thieves not only took valuable electronics but also his guns. Knight said he came home from work to find his apartment in Pueblo ransacked.

"I mean there was stuff all over the place, this is clean compared to the way they left it," Knight showed 11 News.

He says more than $4,000 worth of their property was stolen including two handguns, a rifle and his stun-gun.

"The guns they were back in my closet and the other one was in my night stand. Two of them were put away in cases and the other I had for home protection," Knight said.

Before these break-ins, Knight, like a lot of others, never kept records of the serial numbers on his weapons. But he said it’s admittedly an important thing to do and it could have helped with the recovery of his weapons.

"It shouldn't have taken something like this for me to realize I should've done it to begin with, but definitely from now on everything, anything, if it has a serial number on it, it will be placed down from now on you know," Knight said.

This burglary has prompted Knight and his girlfriend to move out of their apartment.
