A man stole a vehicle from a dealership while on a test drive Saturday morning. Colorado Springs police and Colorado State Patrol are now on the lookout for the stolen car.
According to police, an employee with Mike Shaw Buick had gotten out of the vehicle to gas up at the Acorn gas station on 8th and Cimarron when the suspect drove off. He was last seen headed down Highway 24 towards the interstate.
The suspect has been described as a 29-year-old white male, about 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, with a shaved head. The vehicle is a 2007 blue Ford Mustang with dealership tags. The car was stolen around 10:30 a.m.
A background check of the person on the license presented to the dealership indicates he has six warrants, including one out of Teller County for identity theft and one in El Paso County for motor vehicle theft. Police say they are acting under the assumption at this time that the suspect gave the dealership correct identification.
Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
