Mother Of Teens Targeted In Drive-By Says Shooting "Random"

It's every parent's biggest fear: a drive-by shooting targeting a group of teens hanging out over the weekend.

Police say an SUV, speeding down Zion Drive, stopped suddenly in front of one of the homes, where a group of teens were parting ways for the night. Two men reportedly got out and began firing at the group.

The mother of the teen hosting the party tells 11 News she has no idea why someone would randomly shoot at their home.

She says her son and some of his friends were inside listening to music and playing video games early Sunday morning when an argument broke out. The mother ended the party.

That's when the SUV pulled up. The men shot at the house at least 10 times, striking the garage and smashing through the windshield of one of the vehicles leaving the home. A shot grazed the ear of one girl, who was taken to the hospital. She has since been released.

There is no description of the shooters, other than they may have been in a red Chevy Trailblazer. If you have any information on this shooting, you are asked to call police at 444-7000, or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP to remain anonymous.

Perhaps if the teens weren't "hanging out early Sunday morning", events like these would become less frequent. As I've said before: nothing good happens on the street between 12:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. "Parents". Nice. You obviously don't care enough to have your kids in the house by midnight...

I was there at the shooting and i saw it all. I wasnt afraid to get shot at or anything like that. But, my friends house got shot up and that is not cool. I remember what the two males looked like somewhat and They were gang related, bloods, one male wore a red bandana and the other one wore a red head. There was THREE MALES and they were white and kind of heavy set.

Too funny. Like the majority of you pansies in Clonerado Springs know what a real ghetto looks like. Go back to watching Hollyweird's version of the real world people. Too funny.

So I guess no one has an actual comment about the "drive by"... or find it interesting that a random drive by happened right after an argument?

Pueblo is the drainage ditch for Colorado Springs. That place is horrible. Highest teen pregnancy in Co. Highest amount of homeless kids. I can go on and on...
