Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
A woman managed to fight off an assailant after being attacked while running on the southeast side of the Springs.
The assault occurred at Van Diest Park, located at Chelton and Verde between Pikes Peak Elementary and Carmel Middle School.
According to police, the victim was running in the park when she was suddenly attacked from behind by a male suspect, who asked her for money and solicited sex. The victim fought him off and was able to escape with only minor scrapes and bruises.
Police attempted a K-9 track in the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. He has been described as a skinny 20-year-old black male wearing a hoodie, black pants and black gloves.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
