A convenience store clerk sustained minor injuries in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning.

Police say the victim was outside sweeping when a dark-colored maroon sedan drove eastbound towards the 7-Eleven on the 3800 block of E. Pikes Peak Ave. When the vehicle began passing the 7-Eleven, an unknown suspect inside fired several shots, shattering the store's window.

The clerk ran back inside the store, but was hit by flying glass, causing a laceration on the top of his head. Medical personnel treated him and released him on scene.

The vehicle continued driving southbound. Police say the sedan has black wheels, and may not have hubcaps.

Four shell casings were later found at the scene.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
