The suspect in a Springs-area Dunkin Donuts robbery has been arrested. Police now believe he is responsible for two other robberies and a carjacking.

Police were called to the Dunkin Donuts on the 800 block of West Colorado just after 8 p.m. Wednesday on reports of an armed robbery. Officers say that the suspect entered the store with a silver handgun and demanded money from a store clerk, who complied. The suspect then left the scene with an unknown amount of cash.

The two employees in the store at the time of the robbery were uninjured.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Vernon McKinnie, surrendered Thursday morning after fleeing from police when he was caught driving a vehicle reported carjacked Wednesday night. Police say McKinnie is the prime suspect in the carjacking and Dunkin Donuts robbery, as well as robberies at a Loaf n' Jug and a Circle K Wednesday morning.
