The investigation of a body found last week at an address on Cheyenne Villas Point is being treated as a homicide. The victim was identified Monday as Christina Cornejo, 39.

Cornejo's body was found Friday at an address on Cheyenne Villas Point, near Cheyenne Meadows Park. Her death is the thirteenth homicide of 2012 for Colorado Springs.

Police say the manner of her death was multiple stab wounds.

CSPD spokesperson Barbara Miller says the investigation began with a family member's request to check Cornejo's welfare. When officers arrived around 8 a.m., they discovered an unspecified crime had occurred.

The officers entered the woman's home and found her body. They say members of the violent crime unit are collecting evidence and interviewing several people.

"It was quite the crime scene, from what I understand. Our crime scene investigators are still there trying to collect all the evidence," Miller said Friday during the investigation.

Police are looking for Brian Joseph Hedglin, 40, in connection to this investigation. Hedglin is 5'5" tall, 155 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes.

11 New obtained court documents that showed the couple dated for four years. The court papers also say he was arrested after a heated argument back in March.

Apparently, Christina Cornejo told Brian Hedglin she wanted to take a break, he responded by telling her to get out of his home. The papers say not long after she left, he went to her house, used his key and went inside.

She told police he wanted money back for ski tickets and equipment since they would no longer be going on a ski trip. The documents go on to say she told him she would give him the money the next day and that Hedglin decided he wanted take her personal items and sell it online.

He said he would get more money for those items than what had paid for the ski equipment. Cornejo told officers he went downstairs and threw her computer and printer and broke a desk.

He also broke the treadmill. She reportedly said she felt intimidated but that he did not physically harm her. Hedglin was actually in court that Thursday for this very case, before her body was discovered the next day.

His trial was set to start next month. We have also confirmed she was a member of the National Guard.
