An inmate at a minimum security facility near Canon City is back in custody.
65-year-old Jerry Chase was not at the 5 a.m. formal count Wednesday morning. He was located this afternoon hiding on the prison grounds.
He is serving time at the Skyline Correctional Center, part of the East Canon Prison Complex, for harassment/stalking charges out of Grand County. He arrived in July 2009 and was set to be released in October 2019. Prior to his escape, he had been eligible for parole in a month.
