A suspect in a counterfeit ring has been taken into custody Friday, the Fountain Police Department announced Friday.
Charles Wood, 33, was captured Friday morning. He faces several charges, including forgery, criminal attempt.
Wood is one of five people who Fountain police say stands accused of passing counterfeit $100 bills to area businesses. Police were alerted to the fake money in early April.
The other suspects have not been caught at the time of this report. They are identified as:
David Hagen, 26
Nicky Endsley, 45
Brandy Frazier, 26
Rhonda Eleo, 44
Police say they obtained information on the suspects' involvement through a series of interviews and search warrants. They are asking the public to keep an eye out for the remaining suspects, and contact the police department at 382-6956 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
