The search is on for two men reportedly involved in an early morning shooting on Venetucci near Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard.

Police say that the victim, a 23-year-old male, was walking down Venetucci with his girlfriend when the suspects approached in a black hatchback. Some words were exchanged and then fifteen shots were fired, two of which hit the victim.

The victim's injuries were not life threatening and he managed to get to the parking lot of a Target store to call for help.

The girlfriend was scared, police say, and unable to provide a detailed description of the two suspects. So far, they're only being described as black men. They do believe, however, that the black hatchback drove southbound away from the scene.

Crime lab and K-9 units are investigating and searching along Venetucci, where the shooting took place.
