Colorado Springs police have arrested a man they say is responsible for at least three recent robberies in the city.
Police say they were called to a robbery at Fillmore Liquors at 810 East Fillmore Street on Saturday night around 8 p.m. Officers recognized the suspect's description and style of robbery as matching a recent emerging trend.
Just one day earlier, robbery detectives had identified Robert Williams as a probable suspect in two other armed holdups: the Circle K/Shell convenience store at 2930 N. Chestnut St. on April 4, and the Diamond Shamrock store at 3110 Sinton Rd. on April 23.
Detectives tracked Williams down to an apartment at 2910 Sage Street and arrested him on Sunday. Williams has been charged with all three robberies.
Police say they're investigating the possibility that 20-year-old Williams may be involved in any other cases.
