CSPD released Thursday the description of a person who could be connected to an attempted kidnapping in Colorado Springs this month.
According to a news release, it happened June 12 in the 4300 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue. A man tried to carry away a 5-year-old girl while she was playing outside. He reportedly let her go a short time later and she walked home.
Police said Thursday some of the girl's family saw a man running from the area the night of the attempted kidnapping. It's not clear if that man is the one who tried to take the child.
He's described as an Hispanic male, 5’ 0” tall with a thin build, black hair in a bowl cut and a black goatee. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve blue shirt.
Police want to talk with the man to determine his involvement or to see if he saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the attempted abduction.
If have any information about this crime please call (719) 444-7000; or you may call Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. at (719) 634-STOP (7867); you do not have to give your name and could earn a cash reward.
