Police are investigating a reported carjacking in the Springs.
At 1:24 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the 1200 block of Bristol Avenue, where they talked with one of the victims of the carjacking. According to police, three people were driving east in a Ford Fusion on East Cheyenne Road when a Jeep Cherokee cut in front of them. Police say that when the victims pulled up to the corner of Aspen Avenue and Cheyenne, two men approached the car and threatened the occupants with a shotgun. One of the suspects yelled at the occupants to “get out of the car” and shattered a passenger window with the stock end of the gun. The three victims fled from the scene, while the suspects left in the victims’ vehicle.
The three victims were not injured in the carjacking. The suspects left the scene in a 2006 green Ford Fusion with Colorado license plates. Descriptions of the suspects have not been provided. Anyone with any information that could help with the investigation are asked to notify police, or to call Crimestoppers at 634-STOP.
