Police Ask For Help Finding Elusive Bank Robber

After a bank robbery in Colorado Springs last month, police searched door-to-door through an apartment complex without any luck. Now, they’ve released surveillance photos in hopes that the public can help crack the case.

The photos were taken from the surveillance system in the Key Bank at 3085 S. Academy Blvd. The bank was robbed by a suspect with a handgun on December 22 at 9:45 a.m.

The suspect was last seen running southbound near 3800 Lakehurst Drive. In the initial search, officers went door-to-door in the Southpointe Apartment complex, located at South Academy and Jetwing. They believed the suspect ran there with the cash he got from the ban, but they never found him.

The suspect is described as a white male with a dark complexion or a black male with a very light complexion. He is in his 20s, 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, and was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Chacon with our Robbery Unit at 444-7525 during business hours or the CSPD Communications Center at 444-7000 after hours.

While you all are insulting eachother on spelling CSPD is still out stealing, molesting, and DUI. No wonder they can't solve anything. They decided to hold onto this picture of the suspect. That was the stupidest decision. This guy is out of town now. Maybe someone could have identified him when his face was fresh soon after the robbery. CSPD = an unethical and pathetic police department.

All of you spelling critics are classic examples of being "over qualified" for jobs going to others. Nobody wants to hear unnecessary criticism. If you're smart enough to write properly than you should be smart enough to understand the message the article is trying to convey! If you're so upset at the writing, please volunteer at your local school as a tutor, I'm sure you will be much appreciated by our understaffed teachers.

Serenity, but is a conjunction that can be used in place of however. I should have placed a comma after but which I thought I did, BUT auto correct erased it. So, take that!
